Santorini

Santorini

I first went to see the unique Red Beach in Santorini, as recommended by some very friendly locals. Next, I hired a car and drove to the top of Profitis Ilias, the highest point on the island (the view is amazing). Just make sure to stop and check out the famous monastery.

The last visit before lunch was at the ancient ruins at Akrotiri.

Lunch was at Metaxi Mas, one of the best restaurants on the island. Totally recommend it!

Oia, Santorini

Oia, Santorini

I spent this whole day just exploring Oia and some nearby villages. I walked from Fira up to Oia (10 km) and it took me about 4 hours, as I did stop a lot.

The walk from Fira to Oia allows you to explore 4 wonderful little villages: Fira, Firostefani, Imerovigli, and Oia. If you're into extreme sports, you can do cliff jumping in Ammoudi Bay while here.

Naxos

Naxos

Naxos is not as popular as Santorini or Mykonos, so it not crowded at all, it's very quiet and far more affordable.

I got here by ferry which can take between 1 to 3 hours from Santorini. It's really a better option than flying, as there is no direct route between Santorini and Naxos.

The place is definitely worth the trouble of getting there and there's plenty of places to see, including the famous Portara, Temple of Demeter, Panagia Drosiani Church. I had a relaxed walk that took me through several villages and to one historical site on Naxos. I started and ended in the town of Melanes, walked on ancient marble paths and visited the Kouroi of Flerio. I spent 2 days in total getting here and exploring.

Mykonos

Mykonos

My last destination was Mykonos. It took me about 35 minutes to get here from Naxos by ferry. Mykonos is known for its party scene, so unless you are here for that, I think 1 day is enough.
